Calligraphy A Day

I love beautiful handwriting! Smitten I was that I wanted to learn how to write pretty. Last year one of my goals is to learn basic calligraphy. Unfortunately, with so many sad happenings and tragedies last year it was put on hold. But last week , the desire to learn got me to start practicing. Using my 2014 Starbucks planner and Sheaffer pen I bought at National Bookstore I practice almost everyday. I was looking for a flexible nib but could not find one here in Cebu. Anyway, here's a few of my work.

I made this hand lettered on an ordinary paper the other day. I display it where I can see it everyday as a reminder.

If life is pressing you hard, don't get discourage instead put your faith in God. Something to inspire as you start your week.

Learning Calligraphy

I fell in love with calligraphy. I should have done this on my wedding! Anyway, I can do it for friends by then I will be good at it. For the past days, I have been teaching myself with the help of Google. I'm using Sheaffer Pen but I read somewhere that the best to learn it is with a dip pen and a bottle of ink. I have been looking and searching for a store/boutique that sells a dip pen but was in vain so for the meantime I'll use my Sheaffer  pen purchased at National Bookstore. Before 2013 ends I will enroll myself in a calligraphy class hopefully, there's one in Cebu.
