Getting To Know Mother Mary

May is my birth month and also happens to be the month of Mary. A month long devotion to our Mother Mary. We are encouraged to honor Mary with pictures,reflections and praying the rosary. Honestly, I do not know that it is Mary's month if not reading it here . I was raised as a Catholic and even went to a Catholic school during my elementary and high school. I learned how to pray the rosary but never pray often, that October is the month of rosary and special days of Mary such as birthday and feast days. But I never have a personal relationship with her. It is only now that I am taking time to pray every night and reading about her. These are just of the few simple ways to get to know Mother Mary. 40 Days Of Passion

It's the time of the year that we (Catholics / Roman Catholics) observe Lent through prayer, fasting and abstinence.

Years back, during Lent season I would give up having sweet treats for 40 days straight as a sacrifice. A small act one would say but being a sweet-toothed person it was hard. I stay away from pastry shops and even coffee shops. I Learned self-control. But more than that I never really took the time to seek God and grow my relationship with Him. It is only now that I'm taking the time to develop a personal relationship with Him.  Fasting, abstinence and Lent traditions amounts to nothing if God is not our focus which is actually the essence of Lent.  

One of the ways to have a meaningful Lent is to read books related to Lent and Easter. One particular book I'm reading is 40 Days Of Passion by Bo Sanchez .  The book contains 40 inspiring stories of ordinary people. I'm reading one story a day for the next 40 days as recommended by the author. It's one way of spending time with God because at the end of the story there's a reflection and a prayer for each day, sort of a devotional book for 40 days.

I made this hand lettered on an ordinary paper the other day. I display it where I can see it everyday as a reminder.

Claim To Have A Super Blessed Life

I'm mostly at home now a days since I resigned from my corporate job. Their are days I ask myself if I made the right decision to just quit. I love my job until my department I was assigned to hired  new supervisor. At first we were fine until she started attacking me in a personal way. I am not saying that I am not open to learning something new from her. But from the time she was my supervisor I never felt her support, her mentoring, she keep on assuming on a lot of things even my fb posts. I started feeling stress. It was difficult dealing with her. I don't want to stay long and lose my respect for her so after much thought,conversation with hubby and prayer, I decided to quit. No regular job means no benefits,no salary and with the monthly bills to pay it scares me and have cause anxiety attacks. But with faith in God , He will provide and open new doors for me. I'm claiming his blessings.
